Last month, I photographed another 1st birthday party at The Playhouse at Seb’s Bistro @ The Rochester House. The party was to celebrate Jordan’s 1st birthday. Shooting parties for children are in many ways similar to weddings. You have a gathering of friends and family to celebrate a significant life event and my focus is to try and capture the moments that epitomize the event. The main difference for me is with children things are more unpredictable.
With the warm company of the people gathered at the party it was an enjoyable shoot for me. Especially nice was getting to know Jordan’s parents, James and Patricia as well as Patricia’s family when we did a separate outdoor shoot at the Singapore Botanic Gardens the week after the party.
