I was introduced to Peter & Debbie through a friend of a friend and am so very glad that I got to shoot their wedding. They celebrated their wedding with a very intimate and beautiful wedding ceremony and dinner. Their exchange of vows was emotional and everyone could see how much they were in love just by the way they looked at each other. Peter serenaded Debbie and also sang the song ‘La Bamba‘ that opened up the dance floor. Debbie looked radiant and had a smile on her face the whole night. The best man’s speech was also the funniest I had heard in a long time. Overall, all these made for a very enjoyable and fun shoot for me.
One of the things I really enjoy about photographing weddings is the great privilege to witness up close what most couples would deem to be the happiest day of their lives. I always hope my images will be able to bring the couple back to their wedding day. That through my images, the emotions, the sounds, and even the conversations would come flooding back to mind and that they will also see things that they did not notice before due to the busyness of the day. The following is an excerpt from a testimony that Peter wrote of my wedding photography:-
“Derrick’s relaxed nature and personality made everyone feel at ease; as a result, most of the time we forget he was even there snapping away. This allowed him to take stunning natural photos which captured the atmosphere and spirit of the occasion. Debbie and I had a great day and the photos are proof of this, they will provide us with many happy memories of the occasion in years to come.”
