I was introduced to Andrew and Hui Meng and their two lovely children, Brianna and Alexander, by a fellow photographer friend of mine a couple of weeks ago. They recently got me to do a family shoot for them at their home. Most of the shoot was pretty much how I cover an actual day wedding. I just followed the kids around and took candid, unposed and photo-journalistic style shots. If they decided to pose for the camera, I would take the photo too. I just let them go about doing whatever they wanted to do and took photos without any prompting or direction. Like my wedding shoots, I stuck to using the natural light available which is my personal preference.
This was the first official family shoot I’ve done in quite a long time and I really enjoyed my time at their place. Photographing children is always a challenge but at the same time always extremely fun! I always hope that the photographs that I take of people will be something that they will like and treasure for years to come.
