Loo Ying is a friend of my wife Laura from her days in Junior College. I recently did a shoot for her family at HortPark. Like weddings, I am interested in the dynamics between the people in front of the camera and try as much as possible not to influence how they act in front of the camera. I try not to impose on my subjects and let them be themselves. I find that my best images are always the ones in which a little snippet of life is captured.
Here are a couple of my favorite images from the shoot. I was playing around with a “Lomo” look with the last two images and quite like the result and mood it produces.
